Balsamic Barbecue Sauce Recipe

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • Kosher salt, to taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté for 5 minutes until softened.
  • Add the balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, cumin, garlic powder, oregano, pepper, and salt. Stir to combine.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the sauce cool.
  • Store the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
