Grilled Sausage Pizza with Avocado-Tomato Salsa

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1 lb. pre-made pizza dough
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

For the Avocado-Tomato Salsa:

  • 2 ripe avocados, diced
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • ¼ cup diced red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • Place the sausage on the grill and cook for 10 minutes, flipping occasionally.
  • Meanwhile, roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface.
  • Brush the dough with olive oil, and then sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the pizza dough on the preheated grill and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Flip the pizza dough and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  • Top with cooked sausage and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, make the Avocado-Tomato Salsa: In a medium bowl, combine the diced avocado, tomato, red onion, garlic, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper
  • Remove the pizza from the grill and top with Avocado-Tomato Salsa.
