Grilled Sausage Pizza with Avocado-Tomato Salsa

- 1 lb. Italian sausage
- 1 lb. pre-made pizza dough
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- salt and pepper to taste
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
For the Avocado-Tomato Salsa:
- 2 ripe avocados, diced
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- ¼ cup diced red onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Place the sausage on the grill and cook for 10 minutes, flipping occasionally.
- Meanwhile, roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface.
- Brush the dough with olive oil, and then sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Place the pizza dough on the preheated grill and cook for 5 minutes.
- Flip the pizza dough and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Top with cooked sausage and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, make the Avocado-Tomato Salsa: In a medium bowl, combine the diced avocado, tomato, red onion, garlic, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper
- Remove the pizza from the grill and top with Avocado-Tomato Salsa.
