Grilled Figgy Pies

Grilled Figgy Pies

- 2 Sheets of refrigerated pie crust
- 12 Dried Figs
- 1/2 Cup Chopped Walnuts
- 1/4 Cup Maple Syrup
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Ground Nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2/3 Cup Mascarpone Cheese
- 1 Large Egg
- 1 tbsp Water
Instructions
- Warm the pie crust at room temperature
- In a saucepan, combine the figs with warm water and cook them 15-20 minutes
- Drain the figs and cut them, set them aside
- In the same saucepan, combine nutmeg, walnuts, cinnamon and maple syrup.Cook them 5 minutes
- Using a round cutter, cut 12 circles of pie crust
- Stir vanilla and remaining maple syrup with mascarpone cheese. Spread 1 tablespoon of mascarpone mixture over half of each circle. Then, layer with 2 teaspoons maple walnuts and 4 fig pieces.
- Prepare egg and water to moisten the edge of the crust
- Fold the edges of the crust and press the edges with a fork to seal them
- Grill the pies 5-7 minutes per side
